Rochester, N.Y.,August 14 2012 -

Experts and executives to lead programs on document management, enterprise collaboration and Microsoft SharePoint

Business, government and IT professionals have a new destination for the latest insights on technology change in the enterprise workplace—Kodak Global Directions. Attendees of the educational conference will learn about technologies and best practices that are fundamental to the development, design and implementation of solutions for document management, collaboration, governance and business process automation. Kodak will host the three-day event Sept. 24-26 at the JW Marriott Resort in Las Vegas.

“Kodak Global Directions is an educational forum for business leaders who want to transform document management into a core driver of growth and innovation,” said Tony Barbeau, Kodak’s General Manager for Document Imaging. “The conference will provide both IT and business professionals with the tools and resources to properly identify, evaluate and specify right ‘fit’ solutions that enable organizations to achieve improved results through stronger collaboration.”

Attendees of Kodak Global Directions 2012 will explore a range of topics related to the successful deployment of collaborative software platforms. Each day will begin with a keynote presentation from executives of leading technology companies, such as Microsoft, on related industry trends and market issues. A 2012 study compiled by the research firm IDC ranks collaboration tools as a top priority of CIOs and other senior IT decision makers. The conference will address a variety of collaboration systems including Microsoft SharePoint and Microsoft Office 365.

“Corporate and organizational leaders need document management to play a more strategic role as they confront the broad impacts of computing infrastructure, application economics, and enterprise platforms,” said Rod Hughes, Kodak’s Director of Global Alliances. “Kodak Global Directions will help attendees apply actionable best practices to exciting new software applications, document management systems and workflow solutions.”

The agenda for Kodak Global Directions focuses on ways for businesses to successfully implement document management in cloud-based and on-demand environments such as Microsoft SharePoint Online and Microsoft Office 365. Presentations will feature established professionals from both private and public sector organizations including the United States Air Force, Kollabria, Gimmal, Comply365 and Concept Searching.

The programs at Kodak Global Directions will help attendees understand how to use a data-driven approach to streamline their businesses’ document management processes. Sessions will outline the essential needs of a complete document management solution. Experts will address information governance, workflow automation, security requirements, classification standards, information triage, third-party system connectivity, content distribution, search functionality and social collaboration. Real-world examples will showcase businesses that have successfully achieved efficiency gains and increased the value of information by using capture technologies to sort, index and migrate information from unstructured data into their document management solution.

“Kodak Global Directions will allow attendees to get hands-on with technology and connect with top experts. These resources will help them adapt existing processes to the rising number of knowledge workers in the enterprise,” said Hughes. “The experience will provide professionals with the confidence they need to correctly build out a document management system that is capable of supporting a more collaborative workplace.”
