KODAK SPOTLESS Technology allows spot colors to be reproduced with process colors rather than special inks. With SPOTLESS Software, printers can reduce press downtime and increase efficiency, while designers and print buyers can specify a greater variety of spot colors to enhance creative projects.
With a choice of four-, five-, six-, or seven-color process builds, SPOTLESS Technology expands the color gamut within a flexible and scalable workflow. Four-color SPOTLESS Technology uses CMYK process builds to simulate spot colors that are within the CMYK gamut. Five-, six-, and seven-color SPOTLESS Technology uses an extended process color set to reach spot colors outside the CMYK gamut. It allows printers to select their own, unique, customized ink sets, specifically formulated for their press and customer requirements.
Reduce press down time, increase uptime efficiency: spot colors are simulated using screen tint builds of the base process colors. As a result, washups between jobs are unnecessary, and downtime is significantly reduced.
Avoid multiple passes or extended multi-unit presses: with one ink set providing a wide color gamut, jobs do not require multiple runs through the press, nor the use of extended multi-unit presses.
Gang up jobs, enable shorter runs: the ability to deliver spot color value with extended process color builds allows printers with SPOTLESS Technology to combine jobs that traditionally required separate print runs.
Take advantage of more creative options: designers are able to incorporate multiple spot colors according to their creative needs, rather than the limitations of a conventional spot color production process.
