The Kodak Versamark VL Printing Systems offer an environmentally friendly machine that uses water based inks and fluids requiring only enough paper to run the job, reducing waste in make-ready and overages. The reduction of waste in the press area from production as well as obsolete inventory provides quantifiable environmental benefits in terms of less waste paper ending up in the landfill. The solution also improves social conditions for users and the surrounding community addressing the growing concerns of non-relevant, superfluous direct mail.

Upgrade Path: VL2000 to VL6000
With the KODAK VERSAMARK VL-Series Printing Systems Kodak offers customers the opportunity to start with a simplex printing system and then move to a higher speed machine or a system printing at higher resolution. From a VL2000 single print tower, a customer can add on the VL2200 to add duplex capacity. If market requirements and cost factors drive customers to look for lower Total Cost of Ownerships than what the VL2000 and VL2200 can offer, the customer has the option of purchasing printhead firmware allowing the customer to print 600x360 dpi. This option is available on the VL4000 and VL4200. If the highest possible quality is the criteria, the VL6000 (simplex) and VL6200 (duplex) will allow customers to print at 600 x 600 x 2 dpi. These upgrade options provide customers the flexibility to find the best solution for their needs.
The KODAK VERSAMARK VL2000 Printing System prints 600x600 dpi CMYK process color at 246 fpm (75 mpm) in a single pass. The KODAK VERSAMARK VL2200 Printing System adds a second print engine to enable duplex printing at the same resolution and speed.
For some print markets, identical horizontal and vertical print resolution is not required. When speed is the primary consideration, KODAK VERSAMARK VL4000/VL4200 Printing Systems can achieve 410 fpm (125 mpm) at a resolution of 600 x 360 dpi.
KODAK VERSAMARK VL6000/VL6200 Printing Systems offer a customizable feature set that delivers even more functionality. You can either enhance resolution beyond 600 x 600 dpi while maintaining speeds of 246 fpm (75 mpm). Or you can maintain resolution of 600 x 600 dpi while doubling the speed to 492 fpm (150 mpm).
