• A Recap of EFI Connect 2014: Register for 'Best Practices in Kodak & EFI Integration' Webinar

    EFI Connect

    This was my first opportunity to attend the annual EFI Connect Users' Conference at the Wynn Las Vegas. Kodak is proud to be a Gold Sponsor of the event and I was very excited to have the chance to meet with customers and prospects—and show our support for the strong partnership we have with EFI.

    This year the conference had a sellout crowd with record attendance, which is clearly a testament to the fact that it's a fantastic event, offering customers an incredible number of conference sessions on a wide variety of topics. Many of the conference attendees are customers of both EFI and Kodak. And those who aren’t, are very well-qualified prospects!

    Two key things make this an important and strategic event for Kodak:

    • An opportunity to meet directly with our customers and prospects (particularly C-level executives and decision makers) to show the latest developments in our product portfolio;
    • An opportunity to strengthen our partnership with EFI and the show the value this partnership brings to our common customer base by demonstrating the connectivity between Kodak's Workflow Solutions and EFI's MIS and Web-to-Print solutions, as well as Fiery Controllers.

    Reviewing some of the marketing materials and presentations for the event, I heard a common theme:  "Connecting your people, products and processes together." This is directly aligned with the goals we have for Kodak’s Workflow Solutions as well. And this theme clearly resonates with almost every customer that I met with. Many conversations started with: "I have all (or some) of the parts but I really need to learn more about "connecting" all the dots between them."

    In fact, as a result of these questions and discussions at the event, we've decided to focus our first webinar of the year on this topic!

    I also had numerous discussions about the challenges with implementing technology changes—whether it's the learning curve to bring in new products; or taking what they already own to the next level to get the most ROI. And almost equally challenging is: how to effectively manage change throughout the organization—by helping employees embrace new processes, work differently with customers, and often, stretch and grow outside of their comfort zones.

    This event provides a unique opportunity to move those conversations forward by showing attendees HOW our PRINERGY Workflow and INSITE Prepress Portal System actually DO integrate with the Web-to-Print or MIS Systems across the exhibit hall. We also have a chance to continue dialog with key strategic customers who are already down the path of integrating Kodak and EFI products—to get direct feedback, identify hurdles and jointly set game plans to collaborate on next steps.

    I can't say enough about what a great event this is for our customers and our industry. It brings the strongest brain power in our industry together to share, to learn, and to work on our common goal to connect people, products and processes to increase profitability and maximize ROI.
