Security Ink
Designed to reduce the fraudulent use and reproduction of counterfeit items, Kodak’s new Security Ink for the KODAK VERSAMARK Printing Systems enables printers to add unique security features invisible to the naked eye. Whether the true value of a printed piece is measured as financial, political or social, advanced efforts to protect, track and authenticate that item are critical as printers and their clients work to combat counterfeiting.
Security Ink, available worldwide, is affordable and easy to use in applications such as ballot and coupon verification, and for any transactional documents requiring validation. Transactional and commercial printers offering direct mail, transactional, loyalty and check printing will benefit from the security features made possible with the new ink.
Another feature of the Security Ink is the ability to track and trace via barcode readers. The invisible barcodes printed on the piece make it possible to record its use and location when it is scanned. The Security Ink is applied by the VERSAMARK Printing Systems to documents printed on non-optically brightened papers, and is invisible under normal UV light. However, when viewed under either short wavelength (254 nm) or long wavelength (366 nm) UV light, it fluoresces the print with a whitish blue color, enabling the user to read and verify its authenticity.

The KODAK VERSAMARK Printing Systems MICR Option builds on this legacy, enabling easy and efficient integration of MICR printing to your high-quality, process color VERSMARK inkjet system.

With the KODAK VERSAMARK MICR Option, MICR is integrated into the print tower with an additional writing system that uses the same, proven Drop-on-Demand technology. The result is a robust MICR solution that can stand up to the most demanding throughput requirements, delivering MICR imprinting at full machine-rated speeds—no press slowdown is required—and with the quality you have come to expect from VERSAMARK Printing Systems. The MICR option is available either as a factory-installed feature or as a field upgrade, and can be safely stored when MICR printing is not required.
Micro Printing
The ability to print 1-point type that is not legible without a loupe is a common feature used in finance, healthcare and insurance documents to prevent duplication. It becomes especially powerful when embedded with variable data unique to each document.
For example, the signature line on a redemption check could be micro-printed with the recipient’s name, redemption amount and expiration date.
