In -line affordable option for enhancing security
Designed to reduce the fraudulent use and reproduction of counterfeit items, Kodak’s new Security Ink for the KODAK VERSAMARK Printing Systems enable printers to add unique security features invisible to the naked eye. Whether the true value of a printed piece is measured as financial, political or social, advanced efforts to protect, track and authenticate that item are critical as printers and their clients work to combat counterfeiting.
Security Ink, available worldwide, is affordable and easy to use in applications such as ballot and coupon verification, and for any transactional documents requiring validation. Transactional and commercial printers offering direct mail, transactional, loyalty and check printing will benefit from the security features made possible with the new ink.
Another feature of the Security Ink is the ability to track and trace via barcode readers. The invisible barcodes printed on the piece make it possible to record its use and location when it is scanned. The Security Ink is applied by the VERSAMARK Printing Systems to documents printed on non-optically brightened papers, and is invisible under normal UV light. However, when viewed under either short wavelength (254 nm) or long wavelength (366 nm) UV light, it fluoresces the print with a whitish blue color, enabling the user to read and verify its authenticity.
